It contains three different sweeteners, so that's about what I'd expect, but it seems peculiar and I haven't learnt the necessity yet. Maybe I'm just used to smth with bitterness because our usual mouthwash is homemade: botanical tinctures with essential oils, nothing to soften or buffer.
